Article: Some Students Resist Working on Senior Project

SUNNYSIDE HIGH SCHOOL

Karla Mancinas had her heart set on walking down the aisle during graduation with her twin brother Adrian. But she did something her brother didn't: She finished her senior project.

"I (didn't) get to walk with my brother - and that's a big deal to me," Karla Mancinas said.

The twins' situation wasn't the norm at Sunnyside High School. All of the seniors who completed a senior project graduated last Friday. Still, some students say the process was confusing, and that the projects shouldn't have counted for so much of their grades this year.
