Article: Graduation -- Sunnyside's Senior Projects Pay Off

SUNNYSIDE - They whined, wailed and moaned. They complained, bickered and dragged their feet.

They should have been given more time to be seniors, more time to spend with their families, not work on this senior project stuff.

Sunnyside High School's Class of 2003 was the school district's guinea pig class for senior projects, and they complained about it " 'til we were finished," said Ryan Cullen, 18.

"In the end, it wasn't so bad," he said. "It opens your eyes to careers, about where you want to go."

Complaints drove the process, but ultimately "changed my mind about what I want to do after high school," said Chad Wattenbarger,
