TOPPENISH - Melvin Edward Peterson of Toppenish, 76, died Tuesday,
Sept. 9, 2003 at Toppenish Community Hospital. He was born Feb. 11,
1927 in Kelso, Wash. to Zina (Zickafuss) and Theodore W. Peterson.
In 1943, at the age of 16, Melvin joined the Navy and served in
the Pacific during World War II. He married Twila Wells in 1948.
Melvin worked for Del Monte in Toppenish for 35 years. He was a
member and past president of the Teamsters Local 760. He enjoyed
raising pigs as a hobby.
Our father was kind, compassionate and loving to all of his
children and will be dearly missed by us all.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Twila Peterson ...
