Article: Abducted Executive Found Buried Alive In Manhattan Pit; 2 Suspects Arrested, Man Rescued Soon After Ransom Money Is Paid

Police found Harvey Weinstein, a tuxedo company chief executive, buried alive in a pit on Manhattan's Upper West Side this afternoon, 11 days after he allegedly was kidnapped on his way to work.

After a ransom was paid and two suspects were arrested this morning, police combed a ravine off Henry Hudson Parkway calling Weinstein's name, they said.

"Finally, they heard a response," Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said. "He said, `I'm here,' " and officers began digging in the dirt with their hands. They found a plywood cover and beneath it a metal door weighted by concrete blocks. Under that, Kelly said, they found Weinstein, 68, covered in soot, and exhausted.
