Article: Guilty Pleasures -- Theme parties

By now, you've probably figured out that Guilty Pleasures does not need much of an excuse to party: birthdays, holidays, the winter solstice, the season premiere of "The Office." These are all perfectly reasonable events to mark by throwing a party.

But why just throw any party when you can throw a theme party?

Theme parties are relatively simple and can make a ho-hum affair - - the anniversary of your cat being declawed, perhaps -- a bash that goes down in the history books.

Don't, however, approach theme parties like a high school's spirit week: crazy hat day, inside-out shirt day, mismatched shoe day.

Get creative. Think, as they say, outside the box.
