WALLA WALLA -- It wasn't difficult to find statistical evidence of
Yakima Valley's 59-53 loss to Walla Walla in a Wednesday night
Eastern Region women's basketball game.
The No. 1-ranked Yaks made only 2 of 19 shots from 3-point range,
for example, and shot 29 percent overall. They were outrebounded 51-
41. And they attempted only 12 free throws (making nine) to Walla
Walla's 26 (the Warriors made 19).
If anything positive came from YVCC's loss, its seventh straight
on the Warriors' court, it was that region co-leader Columbia Basin
was also defeated.
The Hawks, who will visit Sherar Gym on Sunday, lost 47-36
