A $9 million project to renovate City Dock in Annapolis will shut
down part of the harbor to boats until the middle of April and cause
traffic disruptions in the downtown district, city officials said.
Traffic will be rerouted along the streets in the City Dock area,
but roads will not be closed, according to a statement issued by the
city. Boats will not be able to access part of the dock known as Ego
Alley, leading directly into the city, until the project is
completed, but other maritime traffic will not be impeded.
"It's only Ego Alley that's closed. The river is open," said
Harry Sandrouni, the city's chief of engineering and construction.
