Ministers have promised a fresh look at how to combat antisocial
behaviour after research found current methods only provide short-
term respite for weary communities.
The review of how government, local agencies and people work
together was ordered ahead of the third anniversary of the
implementation of the Antisocial Behaviour Act.
An evaluation of the use of dispersal orders throughout Scotland,
including Aberdeen, Dingwall, and Sauchie in Clackmannanshire, found
that long-term solutions are needed.
The report found that dispersal powers had an immediate impact
and in most locations police only had to disperse individuals on the
first couple of weekends.
