The father of a seven-year-old boy killed on a motorway said
yesterday his son may have been rushing home because he was afraid
of the dark.
Kieran Coupe, seven, and his six-year-old friend Guy Davies were
struck by three cars as they crossed the M56 close to their home in
Runcorn, Cheshire, on Wednesday night.
Kieran's father, Colin Lambert, 31, said he suspects the boys may
have accidentally wandered on to the carriageway after getting lost
in woods between the motorway and their housing estate in Murdishaw,
Runcorn.
The two boys were killed outright in the accident which happened
at 7.20pm.
