Article: UC Berkeley students to ID spots ripe for crime

Addressing a recent spike in violent robberies, UC Berkeley
students will lead a walk around town tonight to identify and report
dark places where criminals may hide.
The Associated Students of the University of California will mark
on maps places where bushes need to be cut back on city sidewalks,
streetlights that are out, and other seemingly dangerous areas that
need attention by the city of Berkeley. They will present their
findings to the Berkeley city manager and City Council in hopes of
getting action.
"The recent spike in crimes has rattled a few nerves down here,"
said Igor Tregub, city affairs adviser for the ASUC. "We're happy
