The crowds have drifted away like leaves in an autumn breeze.
Most big festivals and events are over, and some of the usual
attractions have closed for the season. It's a quiet time in Door
County's biggest community.
And that's the beauty of it.
What to do: If it's nice, soak up the cool air of late autumn.
Potawatomi State Park is often overlooked in the shadow of its
better known and larger sister park, Peninsula, but it boasts its
own long stretch of Sturgeon Bay shoreline and miles of hiking
trails. In fact, after you have climbed the observation tower and
taken in gorgeous woods-and-water views, hike on the very first
miles (or last, if you come from the other direction) of the Ice Age ...
