Denver - Before Saturday night, no team had dared to put rookies in the top two spots in the batting order in a World Series game.

The Boston Red Sox proved it's not so bad to let the kids lead the way every now and then.

With Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia doing much of the damage from atop the lineup, the Red Sox held off the Colorado Rockies, 10- 5, in a drawn-out Game 3 at Coors Field to move within a victory of their second World Series sweep in four seasons.

Boston will look to yet another youngster, 23-year-old lefty Jon Lester, tonight in Game 4, with Rockies right-hander Aaron Cook attempting to avoid a whitewash.
