When Cleveland Browns running back Eric Metcalf burst into the end
zone with his second punt return for a touchdown to win the
Pittsburgh game, 28-23, last Sunday, his father, Terry, sat back in
his easy chair in Seattle and smiled.
"Carbon copy of the old man," Terry Metcalf might have thought to
himself.
Of course, this was no accident. Eric's No. 1 goal in life was to
be a great football player just like his dad, a three-time Pro Bowl
player for the St. Louis Cardinals in the mid-1970s, who later played
for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts and Washington Redskins.
