It was a little thing, just an honest response to a simple
question, and Ryan Zimmerman handled it as he would almost every
situation, as an established major league veteran rather than a 21-
year-old kid entering his first full season. It is, after all, how he
handles a nasty splitter on the outside part of the plate, how he
handles a slow roller on the infield grass -- as if he has seen it
before.
The question came up after Zimmerman had committed two errors in a
spring training game last week. Was Zimmerman, who carries with him a
reputation as a defensive wizard, worried about his lapses in the
field? The Grapefruit League, by that point, had become old for
nearly everybody involved, ...
