Article: Veteran wants music therapy at medical center

MARTINSBURG - A man who was injured while in the Navy and nursed back to health at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center is trying to help other veterans by creating a music therapy position at the hospital.

Since the hospital has no money for the program, Chance Buzzano is working with Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va., to bring music therapy students to the facility. Buzzano also wants to raise money to send a veteran through the university's program who could work full-time in the hospital once he or she obtained a degree as a music therapist.

"It has been my dream to create this program," Buzzano said. "That hospital did so much, so I'm putting something back in."
