Watt Powell Park is a feasible site for a new Alley Cats stadium, a new study states.

When the city applies for about $10 million in state economic grant money July 1, it will now mention both the Watt Powell site and the preferred East End site in plans.

Mayor Jay Goldman has been talking with landowners on the East End to negotiate a buying price, but has not been able to reach an agreement.

"We have property owners that don't want to deal in our price range," Goldman said, referring to Plaza East owner Dick Salamie. "I think he's willing to work with us, but I don't know that we can work it out at his numbers."
