Newspapers face an increasingly uncertain future, but that
uncertainty contains opportunities, the chairman of the Newspaper
Association of America told members of the West Virginia Press
Association today.
Speaking in Canaan Valley at the state organization's annual
gathering, William Dean Singleton's message was that the technology
some pundits believe will kill the newspaper industry actually could
be its salvation.
"The sooner we see ourselves as a technology industry, the sooner
we start acting like one, the brighter our future will be," Singleton
said.
