O education's three R's of reading, 'riting and 'rithmatic, more and more West Virginians would like to add riding as the fourth, but how quickly and at what level are still up for discussion.

At a legislative interim meeting last month, Sen. Walt Helmick, D- Pocahontas, said that lawmakers wanted to "move aggressively" work toward getting high schools and middle schools involved in mountain biking, which he believed would provide students with more lifelong benefits than such traditional sports as football and basketball.
