Article: Class AAA Spring Valley routs No. 1 Beavers

West Virginia's No. 1 high school boys basketball teams in Class AAA and AA squared off Tuesday in Wayne County and it wasn't close.

AAA Spring Valley routed AA Bluefield, 81-51, to improve to 12-1.

The Timberwolves jumped out to an early lead, thanks to a 27- point first quarter. They never trailed thereafter.

Kory Mitchell showed Spring Valley the way, pouring in 27 points. Brandon Moore scored 17, grabbed eight rebounds and tallied eight assists. Chris Stender also had eight boards for the Timberwolves.

Chris Hairston led the Beavers (9-1) with 11 points.
