The Main Street West Virginia program has handed out $50,000 in
cash awards to communities around the state that are working to
revitalize their downtowns. Main Street's annual awards banquet was
held Wednesday evening at the Marriott. Honored for outstanding
accomplishments during the past year were:
Design award, large community category, Main Street Fairmont,
$4,000; small town category, Main Street Ripley, $4,000.
Organization award, large community category, Main Street
Martinsburg, $4,000; small town category, Main Street Ripley, $4,000.
Promotion award, large community category, Main Street Morgantown,
$4,000; small town category, Main Street Ripley, $4,000.
