Article: 'The Daily Show' finds W.Va. angle , Comedy Central show makes do after Frye bails

Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" wanted to do a
story on Philip "Icky" Frye, focusing on the oddball story of the
affair between his ex-wife and Gov. Bob Wise, and Frye's intentions
to run for governor. Frye bailed the day of the interview, said Matt
O'Brien, an associate producer at the show.
But the news parody show found plenty of ways to poke fun at Wise -
and West Virginia.
In a four-minute skit that aired Tuesday and twice Wednesday, The
Daily Show interviewed a little-known Democratic candidate for
governor who called Wise effeminate, made light of the governor's
clog dancing and said he would have picked a prettier woman than
Angela Mascia to have an affair with.
