Funny how football keeps bringing the Atlantic Coast and Big East
conferences together.
After all the extremely public, expansion-minded tug-of-war of the
last two months, the Big East and ACC still have to live with each
other on the football field. West Virginia University has an annual
series with Maryland. Wake Forest begins the season at Boston
College. Syracuse plays the next week at North Carolina.
That will continue into the postseason, as well. Two bowls, the
Toyota Gator in Jacksonville, Fla., and Continental Tire in
Charlotte, have contracts to take teams from each league. Both will
