Tom Burger works behind the scenes, telling other people's stories
of faith and promoting mission projects, a job that fuels his own
faith journey. Burger is a diaconal minister and director of
communications for the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United
Methodist Church, which includes more than 1,200 United Methodist
churches. He serves as editor of the monthly newspaper, public
relations officer, and staff member for the Justice and Advocacy
Ministry Team.
The Morgantown native, who was raised a Roman Catholic, is a
member of Christ Church United Methodist along with his wife,
longtime Kanawha County teacher Bettijane Burger, who was raised a
United Methodist.
