Case No. 20
WITH three children under 10 years old, this 29-year-old husband
and 27-year-old wife try to stretch his minimum wages as far as they
can while he takes college classes.
With only one car and three children ages 4, 6 and 7, the wife
stays home to take care of the family while the husband works and
attends classes.
The $600 a month from his job and $524 a month from food stamps,
however, don't leave much after all the bills are paid.
The windows on their home are drafty and drive up their heating
bills.
The couple does own their trailer and rents the lot where it's
placed. But replacing the 13 windows is simply beyond their means
right now.
