Article: Civic Center ready to tip off another busy basketball season

Call it their home away from home.

The basketball programs of both West Virginia University and Marshall University have shown a growing interest in playing second games - in addition to their annual match-up against each other - at the Charleston Civic Center.

And that's not surprising considering the Mountaineers' deep Kanawha Valley fan base, the Thundering Herd's continuing pursuit of fans east of Huntington and the fact that the Civic Center as a basketball venue is spectacular.
