Article: Daily Mail names new managing editor, political editor

Veteran West Virginia newsman Bob Kelly has been named managing editor of the Charleston Daily Mail, Editor Nanya Friend announced today.

Replacing Kelly as the Daily Mail's political editor will be longtime staff reporter Chris Stirewalt.

Kelly, 54, a Morgantown native with broad experience in reporting and editing positions at several newspapers, will help Friend oversee news operations for the Daily Mail. As managing editor, he will continue to serve on the newspaper's editorial board as he has for the past three years as political editor.

He replaces Chris Stadelman, who left the Daily Mail last week to join the Columbus bureau of The Associated Press.
