Class VI River Runners has purchased 146 acres surrounding its
Lansing base camp for future expansion, said managing partner David
Arnold.
The whitewater rafting company has 16 acres at its headquarters,
so "this is a substantial increase," Arnold said.
The acquired property is to the east and "a lot of it is right on
the rim of the New River Gorge," he said.
The company will probably add overnight accommodations because
"that's one of the things we're missing," Arnold said.
Class VI River Runners also is looking at the possibility of
constructing an adventure center with facilities for climbing,
horseback riding and mountain biking, he said.
