Article: Clay goes online with ticket sales: Arts center's Internet ticketing service proved popular even before its announcement

The Clay Center's new online ticketing service proved popular with the public even before the public was supposed to know about it.

The service has been up and running since late February, and Clay officials intended to test it among themselves quietly before announcing its availability.

"We said, 'Well, let's let the staff look at it for a couple of days,'" recalled Clay Center president and chief executive Sue Sergi.

But the day after it began, Sergi got a call from the center's technology expert, Ted Toler.

"He said, 'Sue, we've already had people on there.'"

That, of course, immediately proved the need for the system, which Clay officials originally intended to roll out ...
