MORGANTOWN - Building on a record year, Penn National Gaming Inc.
announced it will continue investing in its West Virginia and
Pennsylvania operations, with plans for a $240 million overhaul of
one facility and a new hotel at Charles Town Races & Slots.
Penn National, based in Wyomissing, Pa., plans a $10 million, 150-
room hotel and a 2,700-space parking garage for the West Virginia
track this year, as well as the addition of 200 slots, Chairman and
CEO Peter Carlino said. Another 500 machines will be added in 2006
for a total of 4,500.
As it prepares to cash in on a new slot machine law in
Pennsylvania, Penn National has also begun construction on a $240
