Article: 12 W.Va. nursing homes placed on watch list: National consumer group dentifies facilities that may provide substandard care

Twelve West Virginia nursing homes are on a watch list released by a national consumers group that identifies facilities it says may provide questionable care.

Five of the 12 facilities have been on the Consumer's Union's Center for Consumer Health Choices' watch list three times since 2000: Fairhaven Rest Home in Huntington, Boone Health Care Center in Danville, Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing, Hidden Valley Health Care in Oak Hill and Eagle Pointe in Parkersburg.

Mercer Continuous Care Center in Bluefield, Heartland of Beckley, Teays Valley Center in Hurricane - which also were on one other previous list since 2000 - also were on the latest list. The others were Mingo Health ...
