Maybe April showers do bring May flowers.
That could be happening on this maiden voyage for the West
Virginia Power.
Sure, its 10-26 record is still a bottom-five dweller in all of
professional baseball. Then again, transforming April's dreadful 4-
18 mark into respectful doesn't happen overnight.
May has been brighter for this low Class A Milwaukee Brewers' farm
club.
Consider these April downpours:
* A .210 team batting average;
* Only 58 runs in 22 games;
* Just 13 runs in first seven games, all defeats;
* The highest April batting average for a regular was shortstop
Alcides Escobar's .267 mark;
* A 4-18 April record.
