Article: West Virginia Public Theater digs its new Morgantown digs

MORGANTOWN - West Virginia Public Theater has come a long way since its actors performed under a tent in a hotel parking lot.

Soon, the company will put on shows in a new $15 million riverside Morgantown Performing Arts Center in the up-and-coming wharf district. Construction of the theater and connecting exhibition hall could begin this fall.

Last week, the non-profit group announced it will partner with West Virginia University to operate and manage the new facility. Already, $13 million has been raised to build the theater.
