Thornton Cooper, the former state attorney now vying for a place in the Legislature, is decrying the county's hiked cell phone fees as a legislative mistake that should cost Brooks McCabe his seat in the Senate.

Cooper, best known around Charleston as the man who fought the city's user fee, is challenging McCabe in May's Democratic primary for his seat in the 17th District representing Kanawha County.
