You may be in a hurry during some car trips. But what if you encounter someone else's final journey?

Some Charleston drivers seem to be part of a national trend that has seen less respect being paid to funeral processions.

Failure to yield to processions is causing more accidents nationwide, including a fatal one in Milwaukee.

So far, Charleston has been spared, but L.J. Fairless, owner of Snodgrass Funeral Home, said he's aware of near misses.

"Some people just look at it as an inconvenience," Fairless said. "We're all about time now. Get from point A to point B as fast as we possibly can."
