The 15 lawsuits filed by families of the victims and the sole
survivor of the Sago mine disaster will be heard By Kanawha Circuit
Judge Charles King beginning in July 2008.
King met Wednesday with group of plaintiffs' and defense attorneys
involved in the lawsuits and agreed to consolidate the fact-finding -
or discovery - aspect of all the lawsuits.
"Not all of these lawsuits have been filed in Kanawha County,"
King said. "I'm going to consolidate the rest of them into my
courtroom. They will all take place in front of me."
Stephen Goodwin, the Charleston attorney representing Sago
survivor Randall McCloy and his family, said all of the attorneys
