ELKINS - How cold was it Monday? For the University of Charleston men's basketball team, the answer was "not very."

Hot shooting from the floor led UC to a comfortable 87-71 West Virginia Conference men's basketball win at Davis & Elkins.

UC shot an impressive 63 percent from the floor and 65 percent from 3-point range.

Five players scored in double figures for the Golden Eagles (9-8 overall, 5-4 WVC), led by Marquis Brooks' 20-point effort. Dustin Kinney added 19 points.

D&E (5-14, 2-8) was led by Brandon Macon's 18 points.

In other WVC games Monday:

West Liberty 91, Fairmont State 70 - Corey McDuffie scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Hilltoppers to a home win.
