Article: Kanawha City holds fair to bolster community spirit

A citizens group in Kanawha City wants to entice people looking to improve the community to attend a town fair this weekend.

On Saturday, the first Kanawha City Village Fair will be held on the 57th Street lot next to the Cracker Barrel. The Kanawha City Community Association is hosting the event. It will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pam Burka, secretary of the association, said the event would give residents a chance to get to know one another.

"It's just a way for us to bring the area back to a more community- oriented neighborhood," Burka said, "where neighbors get to meet and can help each other improve Kanawha City."
