Old Colony Realtors, the largest real estate company in the state,
announced it is ending its 15-year franchise relationship with GMAC
real estate - a move the company said will result in a boost to the
state economy as it switches to local vendors.
Joe Miller, president of Old Colony Realtors, said the company
will no longer send sizeable checks to GMAC real estate in Chicago
and Detroit to cover franchise fees, training, marketing and
technical support and to provide clients with relocation services.
Old Colony will provide those services using in-state vendors when
it becomes independent on Sunday, he said.
