See Glasgow? Si Cuba? Dead close, so they are. Or will be after
this week, when Glasgow and the Cuban capital of Havana enter into an
historic twinning ceremony under the Caribbean sun.
Glasgow's Lord Provost, Alex Mosson, is to lead a delegation
comprising businesspeople, officials and musicians to the home of rum
and revolutions for a trade mission culminating in the signing of a
twinning agreement between the two cities, the first such agreement
with any city in the UK.
The twinning ceremony, back by the British Embassy, is taking
place on Wednesday. The event marks 100 years of diplomatic relations
between Britain and Havana and extends the Cuban vision of Britain
beyond London and ...
