Brussels, March 9 -- Belgium will decide on noted industrialist Lakshmi Mittal's 18.6 million euro bid to take over Arcelor in April, according to Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt.

The Indian steel magnate handed over to Belgium Mittal Steel's business plan, running more than 100 pages on Tuesday.

Mittal, who has embarked on second round charm offensive to drum up support for takeover plans of the Luxembourg-based Arcelor, continued his argument that it was important to have a strong European steel sector to compete with economic powerhouses such as China.
