WASHINGTON, March 14 -- Rep. Michael C. Burgess, R-Texas, has introduced the Byron Nelson Congressional Gold Medal Act (H.R. 4902), legislation that would "award a Congressional gold medal to Byron Nelson in recognition of his significant contributions to the game of golf as a player, a teacher, and a commentator."

The bill, introduced on March 8, is being co-sponsored by Rep. Gene Green, D- Texas. It was referred to the House Financial Services Committee.
