The Naval War College hosted a conference on "Strategic Communication," the first of its kind in the Navy, March 6-7.
The conference comes at a time when the Department of Defense is addressing communication issues across the military. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has publicly voiced his concern over the issue in recent weeks.
"Our enemies have skillfully adapted to fighting wars in today's media age, but for the most part we - our country, our government - has not adapted," Rumsfeld stated in a speech to the Council of Foreign Relations in February. "They know that communications ...
