Rob Konrad knew little about Syracuse's "Legend of 44" until he learned more about it from an exhibit at the school's Hall of Fame during his recruiting visit. After studying the prestigious list of names-Jim Brown ... Ernie Davis ... Floyd Little-who had held the high honor at Syracuse, Konrad wondered if he was worthy to wear No. 44 for the Orangemen. After all, it was the number Konrad wore at St. John's Prep in Danvers, Mass., where he was one of the nation's most highly recruited running backs.
