Cargill is continuing to build its European biodiesel market presence, announcing last week it is joining fuel suppliers Tesco and Greenergy in the production of a biodiesel plant on England's east coast.
Per its agreement, Cargill will have a 25% stake in Greenergy Biofuels Ltd., which is building a 100,000 ton/yr biodiesel plant in Humberside, U.K. No cost estimates were released on Cargill's stake. Cargill has been working with Greenergy to manage the supply of rapeseed to be used for the plant and to provide the crush facilities for its conversion to biodiesel.
