The new coffee kiosk on the block is in an unexpected place.
Job Connection Inc., a nonprofit organization that works with people with disabilities, has taken over the snack bar at the YMCA. A new twist on the traditional snack bar is the espresso stand the group has set up in the foyer.
The espresso stand, which serves breakfast, juices and coffee from 7 to 10:30 a.m., is open to the public. The snack bar, which is located in the Y, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is only available to Y members.
"Our snack bar was temporarily closed because of health problems with the lady who had been operating it," said Eileen Solberg, a board member of the YMCA. "She didn't have a wish to come ...
