Article: WISCONSIN STATE PATROL WELCOMES RECRUIT CLASS

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation issued the following news release:

The Wisconsin State Patrol will welcome 28 new recruits to the State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy on Sunday, April 2, as they begin an intense 21-week training program that will culminate in their graduation as troopers or inspectors on Aug. 25.

According to Major Darren Price, director of training for the Wisconsin State Patrol, the recruits' training will include firearms proficiency, defensive and arrest tactics, emergency vehicle operations and police pursuits. They also will receive training in communication skills, crash investigations, criminal and traffic law, as well as emergency lifesaving techniques.
