Article: NEW HAMPSHIRE WING WANTS TO SAVE HISTORIC STINSON PLANE FROM RAVAGES OF TIME

The U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol issued the following press release:

One of the planes used by Civil Air Patrol in its submarine-chasing missions during World War II needs refurbishment in order to take its place in an Indiana World War II museum, according to New Hampshire Wing Vice Commander Lt. Col. Raymond E. Lyon.

Dean Kruse and Bob Kraft at the World War II Victory Museum in Auburn, Ind., have a place for the Stinson 10A, N-39435, currently located in Hampton, N.H., if the plane could be painted and receive other repairs. Col. Margie Sambold, the widow of New Hampshire Wing Commander Col. Al Sambold, is the plane's current owner, but does not have the resources available ...
