The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth issued the following news release:
Michigan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in January fell by five-tenths of a percentage point to 6.2 percent from December's 6.7 percent, according to data released today by the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG). In the state's total labor force, total employment rose by 23,000 and unemployment declined by 24,000, leaving the state's labor force little changed over the month.
Michigan's January 2006 jobless rate dropped by eight-tenths of a percentage point from the January 2005 rate of 7.0 percent. In the same period, the national jobless rate decreased by five-tenths of ...
