The city of Boca Raton issued the following news release:

Bruce W. Silk, Fire Chief, and CFO of Boca Raton Fire Rescue Services is hanging up his fire coat and helmet and putting away his boots. On April 28, 2006 Chief Silk is retiring from service.

Bruce Wayne Silk was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 10th, 1943. Parents Clarence and Evelyn Silk were doubly blessed that day as Bruce arrived with twin brother Brian. In 1956 the Silk family said goodbye to the gray cold Chicago winters and moved south to sunny Key Biscayne, Florida.
