The city of Long Beach issued the following news release:
The Long Beach City Council is inviting the public to hear a presentation on the C-17 Red Team's efforts to save the production of Boeing's C-17 transport aircraft in Long Beach, CA. The Study Session will be held from 3:30 - 5:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 24, in Council Chambers, Long Beach City Hall, 333 W. Ocean Blvd.
"Long Beach is faced with the prospect of the C-17 production line being shut down in April 2008. The last large military aircraft production line in the U.S., the C-17 line employs more than 6,500 people. Without funding in the 2007 Pentagon budget for additional aircraft, we will lose the nation's sole remaining ...
